The monster story of the mind.

Isn’t it interesting that we are more worried and fearful of the criticising assumptions others may have upon us than the actual spit-out words of criticism itself?

That’s because the unknown always seems scarier than the actual worse reality. Not because of the unknown itself but because the little voice inside our head makes it sounds worse than it is.

Our minds get attached to the unknown and constantly create monster stories as imaginary realities out of the mystery, which is usually more negative than positive.

The actual scariest monster lives inside us; it lines between our ears, the little voice inside our head; it’s our mind.

It is the best storyteller who constantly creates illusions and provides stories with no proof but can fool us into believing to be true and leave us with unpleasant emotions and, in the long term, miserable life.

Next time the monster mind tries to feat us with pessimistic illusionary, don’t let it get the best of us.

Whatever you frequently think and ponder upon, that will become the inclination of your mind

How can we master our minds?
How can we align the mind with our highest and most purposeful life? In other words, how do we make the mind work for us instead of against us?

Here are the tools with time and perseverance, your mind will be your best friend.

First, develop an awareness.
Before we can master the mind, we must be aware of its nature, activities and, most importantly, the stories it creates.

We do so by being present, being here and now with ourselves, with our minds.

The mind can fool us because we are unaware of its presence; we let it carries us to where and whatever it wishes, and we have no sense nor attempt to navigate or choose the direction. Most of the time, the notion of the mind tends to be negative.

As soon as you recognise its presence, the mind instantly loses its power, as it cannot hide its existence, nor can it hide the negative stories it successfully fooled us every time before. It is like we shine the light on the dark hidden part of us; now we know what is in there, and there is no longer can scare us. We already know it is no more than the little voice inside your head, nor is it a fact.

Secondly, we tell the opposite stories.
Once we recognise the presence of the monster stories, now tell the opposite stories, the best stories and the most optimistic scenario we can find at that time.

Do this enough times; the mind will believe the stories we consistently feed it over and over again, Similar to how we used to believe the stories it kept telling us for years.

The key is mindfulness; we must be mindful of our thoughts; in other words, we must be greater than our minds. We must be present; it will take time since we have lived in our own heads for so long. Breaking through it takes time, energy and effort, but it is worth trying to free ourselves.

There are some tools and techniques how for being more mindful.
